BHUBANESWAR: The state government on Sunday declared additional expansion of this statewide lockdown until 5 am on June 17.
In the aftermath of the next Covid tide, the authorities had enforced lockdown from May 5 to 14 and then extended it to June 1.
Weekend shutdown on Saturdays and Sundays will continue to stay in force throughout the nation through the lockdown.
In view of extreme drop in Covid favorable instances in Nuapada, Sundargarh and Gajapati districts in the past couple of days, the government has chosen to raise the present caked window of buying vital commodities (in 7-11 am) to 6 months (7 am to 1 pm) at these locations weekly.
All kinds of stores, except saloon, beauty parlours and malls are permitted to remain open for half an hour at Nuapada, Sundargarh and Gajapati.
Until lately, Nuapada and Sundargarh were providing the authorities hassle.
The districts mimicked Chhattisgarh had watched evaluation positivity report (TPR) of alarming 50 percent.
Before a week, the TPR at Nuapada, Gajapati and Sundargarh was hovering between 3% and 9 percent.
As stated by the authorities, the TPR is based on a downward slide in 19 districts using positivity rate falling under 5 percent in five districts.
Official data stated Khurda, Cuttack, Puri, Angul, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Mayurbhanj and Balasore accounts for approximately 60 percent of their total illnesses in the nation.
