New Delhi: Earlier this year, Twitter announced that it would allow users to use security keys as the only authentication method.
Now the company has revealed that this new security feature lives on mobile and web.
Twitter has allowed users to enable two factors authentication for a safe login.
Users can use security keys to enter their accounts, but first of all, they must turn on the 2fa method such as SMS code.
However, users can now use the physical hardware key to enter Twitter.
Twitter support posted a tweet where it revealed this security update.
The company is tweeted, “Now the security key can be the only authentication method of your two factors on mobile and web.
Learn more about how the security key can protect your account from the attack.” Now the security key can be the only authentication method of your two factors on your home phone and web.
Just as you need a physical key to unlock the door to your home, you need a security key to unlock access to your account.
Security keys offer the strongest protection for your Twitter account because they have default protection to ensure that even if the key is used on phishing sites, information distributed cannot be used to access your account.
In the blog posts that the company said, “Today, we add options to use the security key as your only 2fa method – meaning you can register one or more security keys as the only 2FA form on your Twitter account without a 2fa backup method.
” “We know it’s important for people because not everyone can have a 2fa backup method or want to share their telephone numbers with us.
With this update, we want everyone to feel empowered to allow the security key to safer with better Twitter accounts.” Add Twitter.
