Silchar: Salchapra in Block Borkhola Cachar Regency will be a possible site to set up a multi-capital logistics park, Silchar MP Rajdeep Roy said on Saturday.
Squiting to the media on Saturday night at the BJP office here, the MP party expressed hope that the formalities needed for the initiation of the Mega Project will be immediately wrapped.
The capital of Logistics Parks (MMLPS) is the main government policy initiative to improve the overall transportation sector, reduce pollution and vehicle congestion, and cut the warehousing costs.
The Ministry of Transportation and Highway is developing these parks in certain locations in the country under the program to improve its logistics efficiency.
The government said it has requested two companies – Tata Group and CBre Inc., Japan – to prepare detailed project reports (DPR) to establish a logistics park in Silchar.
“Site in Salchapra, about 12 km from Silchar Town, has been checked and checked most of the boxes needed for project materialization,” he said.
He said that he would meet with the minister of unity for road transportation and Jalan Raya Nitin Gadkari in the next few days and talk about project and related aspects.
He added that the project work had been going on for the past nine months and hoping that all formalities would do it completely.
MP also highlighted the main points of the Union budget announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and praised him because it prepared a “visionary” budget.
