New Delhi: Bill on major election reforms, including voluntary linkages from Aadhaar for election identity and gives several dates for voter registration, passed by Lok Sabha on Monday amid strong protests and demands by the opposition to refer the law to the committee.
The bill, the opposition MPS said, suddenly and hastily included in the business list of growth on Monday afternoon and was passed by voice and parliamentarians accused them of not being given time to move any amendments even when they said the law was Violations of the Aadhaar law.
They say the bill will be firmly opposed at Rajya Sabha, which may take time on Tuesday.
Law Minister Kiren Rijju said the bill was an important selection reform and already had the support of the standing parliamentary committee with representation of all parties, who had asked the government to accelerate the relationship between Aadhaar with the role of elections because it would lead to “purify” scrolls of fraudulent selection and duplication.
On Monday morning, all opposition parties unanimously opposed the introduction of the bill and said it must be referred to the standing parliamentary committee.
Congress MP Manish Tewari said Aadhaar ACT was not possible to connect Aadhaar to the voter list and only intended to be used to be channeled by financial benefits and the problem.
Tewari also said it was outside the legislative competency of the house to take bills.
The government has stated that Aadhaar ACT aims to be used for good welfare and government enabling such election reform.

Responding to concerns of parliamentarians, Rijju said the bill was the interests of the state because it would master fake voting.
He also claimed that the standing committee had examined and discussed the bill of Threadbare and BJP MP Nishikant DuBey responding to the politics of the bill, said Bangladesh and non-residents should not be on selection rolls.
