New Delhi: Lok Sabha member V K Sreekandan on Thursday urged the government to take steps to overcome the problems of Indian students, who pursued courses in China, stranded in India in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.
Congress members from Kerala also moved notifications for delay movements about the problem in a lower house.
The notification was rejected.
Sreekandan told PTI that he planned to meet the Minister of Health Mansukh Mandaviya and the Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar about this problem on Friday.
According to members, more than 24,000 Indian students study in China for various stranded courses in India.
From them, more than 3,000 students come from Kerala.
He said that China’s authority did not allow them to return because of travel restrictions imposed by them and that there was also no clarity when China would lift the sidewalk.
Various countries, including China, have imposed restrictions on trips for foreigners after the Coronavirus pandemic.
Students now attend online classes.
However, physical classes are needed for MBBS courses but students are seized opportunities, said Sreekandan.
He urged the central government to take problems with China’s authority so that students who were stranded could return to China to pursue their studies.
