Nagpur: From more than 4,500 Covid-19 test reports received on Friday in Nagpur Regency, only one positive.
The patient, who is a 28-year-old person from the city, was taken to an institutional isolation facility at MLA Hostel immediately.
Toi spoke to patients who decided to cooperate with the authorities and remain at the Covid Care Center (CCC) for the welfare of the family and neighbors.
The young man told Tii by telephone that he had symptoms like Covid for the past two days, so he went for testing on Thursday.
“Today, I got a call from the Health Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) that my positive report and their team would shift me to the CCC at MLA Hostel,” said the patient.
The team from NMC shifted him to the CCC while the other two teams immediately started the contact search process.
A NMC official who led one team told Tii that they had taken a swab sample of all members of the patient’s family, including a child, and all the residents of the nearest buildings.
After getting more details of young people, NMC collects samples of people who come into contact with patients in the last four-five days.
Overall, more than 150 samples were collected.
The doctor who cared for said the patient was fine.
“He’s a mild fever in the morning but now the temperature is normal.
Rest, the right food and on time, lots of fluids and vitamins are the basic care lines for these patients.
Reviews will be done every day,” said the doctor.
Interestingly, the patient has taken a dose of vaccine and the dose of both due in the second week of September.
All family members, except children, are fully vaccinated.
No one has Covid-19 symptoms.
The patient told TOI that he had not left Nagpur for more than a year.
“I remember visiting the crowded vegetable market a week ago where I thought I was infected.
But I’m not sure about it,” he said.
NMC officials say that contact with searches and testing more people is their agenda.
“We are pleased that patients easily agree to live in institutional quarantine.
This is for family and friend safety.
We have enough facilities for patients and settings right here,” said the responsible official.
