Kolkata: This weekend looks at the unprecedented rush in this city all top salons that are still booked for the next few days too, with 30-50 customers in the waiting list.
Even though some reservations were canceled, the waiting list rarely showed any movements.
The reason behind the rush is that only 50% of the space that can be used and 50% of staff can be called to work there.
The salon compares the situation with what they usually see during durga puja every year.
Their cellphones continue to ring nonstop while they are flooded with online booking requests.
The owner of this salon said that their weekend business was very encouraging and could be compared to pre-covid Puja ordering time.
“Maybe drive vaccination helps people become confident about adventuring and go for high touch service,” said Priscilla Corner, a June Tomkyn partner.
In each of the six eye catcher outlets, there are 12-15 clients who are in the waiting list.
“On one of our outlets at the popular city mall, 25 clients waited.
It exceeded our 2020 pre-Puja booking scene,” said Julie Chung, head of the business.
Shreya Kanungo, an employee of a private company, who entered one of the salon outlet N John, said, “I am happy to get a long-awaited hair and skin service.” SOUMI SINHA, a city school employee, has been waiting for his salon to give him an appointment for the last four days for his un-maintained hair and eyebrows.
The salon that runs it says that many clients prefer stylists and beauticians because they don’t want their services to be done by others.
This makes a longer queue.
Most of the salons have been carried out with a walk-in slot for a while and for each appointment, they allow a maximum delay of 10 minutes.
