Gangtok: Landslides have blocked National Highway 10, flicking arterial road relations between Sikkim and West Bengal on Thursday, said a border organization official (Bro).
Following heavy rain, a large number of stones and mud rolled down the hill and blocked the highway in the area of 29 miles in neighboring West Bengal, about 60 km from the Himalayan Rangpo State border.
Active efforts to clean the debris and open the highway at least for one-way traffic, but rain and sustainable debris inhibit work, said officials bro.
Vehicles take a detour to achieve their goals.
The area witnessed landslides and blocked the highway at least three times ripe.
