Ludhiana: With the last date to regulate illegal water supplies and drain connections approaching, city corporate officials plan to take the help of regional council members to reach more residents because their response has not been good so far.
This one-time completion scheme was told on August 24 and people did not need to pay a penalty until November 24, but after that 100% alright would be applied.
Because August 24, in Zone A, 753 illegal water supply connections and disposal have been arranged, in zone B 525, in the C 920 zone and in the D 1,500 zone.
However, officials recognized that the number was very low, continued to view city growth and they expect at least 5,000 connections’ regularization in Zone D alone.
Officials claim that very nominal charges are repaired under this scheme.
For houses built in an area of up to 125 square meters, Rs 200 per connection was repaired (RS 100 for the water supply and RS 100 for sewerage), Rs 500 for 125 to 250 square meters and Rs 1,000 for above 250 square meters.
For commercial and institutional property up to 250 square meters, the cost is Rs 1,000 per connection and above 250 square yards, Rs 2,000 per connection.
One of the officials claimed that they did not charge the power cuts, security costs and security money.

After that the 100% penalty will be charged.
Users who do not get their connection regularly within six months from the date of notification will face termination and penalty that applies with interest The delayed amount.
Nevertheless, not many residents will advance.
