Losing the stock market encouraged men Bhubaneswar to kill his wife, son

Bhubaneswar: Unable to overcome the frustration of the loss of work during the covid-induced locking and a large loss in the stock market, a man who was allegedly strangled his wife and son to death in the Kalinga Vihar area below the Tamando police limit on Tuesday.
The police arrested the defendant Abanti Bijay Mangaraj (40), who also tried to commit suicide by cutting his left wrist.
Even though he was hospitalized, his condition was safe, police said.
The body of the wife of Mangaraj, Swarannaata (35) and Son Jitu (10) recovered from their homes that they had taken the rent recently.
“Mangaraj is in a deep financial crisis.
We heard he used to work as a salesman in a private company before he faced it during the class this year.
This angle is being verified.
He tried his luck in investing in the stock market.
But it was released by heavy losses,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police of Uma Shankar Dash.
The police said the frustration had a negative impact on his personal life.
He often vent his anger on his wife and son, which leads to altercation which is often between the couple.
Husband and wife took a fight on Monday night.
“Mangaraj mixed sleeping pills in the food of his wife and son on Monday night.
In the morning, he suffocated them to death in their sleep.
He tried to commit suicide by cutting his wrist and failed.
He escaped from the house before being released.
Police,” said Dash.
Police sources said Mangaraj had called his brother-in-law and told him about his violations.
