After news of his death broke on Sunday, Goan’s social media was converted into a large canvas where patients, colleagues, politicians and others paid tribute and post memories.
Some tell me how he saved their lives, others how he calmed them as they were scared.
Some also remember it as an oasis of tranquility like Zen in the midst of a huge public hospital rush.
Desy survived his wife and son.
The last rite was done in Borim on Sunday after noon.
After completing MBBS and MD at GMC, Desai worked in England for several years, and also in private hospitals in Bengaluru.
