Kolkata: On the World Day against Trafficking on Friday, the Diamond Harbor Police District combined with the Shakti Vahini NGO, who worked on anti-trafficking, to save a 15-year-old girl taken far to Mathura.
Survivor from Maheshtala was allegedly kidnapped in a car on a trip to the market.
The girl called back home and NGO coordinated with police riding and Maheshtala.
The girl was reported missing in February.
However, in July he managed to call his father and told him he was held hostage in Mathura, where he was physically and sexually exploited.
“His brother-in-law even threatened to kill him if he tried to escape.
The girl told her whereabouts after that we made rescue,” said an investigative officer.
On Friday, the Western Bengal Protection Commission and NGOs such as Shakti Vahini and GGBK visited at least 70 odd police stations from 24 North and South Parganas to disseminate the importance of reacting immediately after missing news was reported.
