Guwahati: Head of Assam Minister Himanta Buswa Sarma presented Pugilist Olympic Medal Lovlina Borghain Rs 1 Crore and offered the position of police deputy supervisor (DSP) in the State Police Department in the criminal program organized by Srimanta Sankardeva’s international auditorium here Guwahati on Thursday.
He will be appointed as DSP in accordance with the state sports policy.
Earlier this year, the Championship gold medal sprinter World Hima Das was appointed DSP in the police department.
Sarma said the state government had decided to give Lovlina RS 1 Monthly as a scholarship to prepare for the Paris Olympics in 2024 and will continue to do so until the game.
