Low bend can reduce the rainfall deficit: IMD

Bhubaneswar: While shower induced by southwest monsoon causes flooding in several rivers in the northeastern part of India, the rainy season becomes weak in Odisha.
Since the beginning of the Monsun in the state on June 10, Odisha has received a 16% rainy deficit this season so far.
IMD sources say heat and moisture have increased to an uncomfortable level without rain.
However, the low pressure area is likely to be formed above the bengal bay next week increases the intensity of rain, the IMD source added.
“Monsun starts well in Odisha and then subdued.
So far, the country has recorded 16% less than normal rainfall.
Monsun becomes weak for several reasons.
Low pressure is likely to form on July 14 and 15.
We keep a watch close on it.
With This rainfall activity tends to increase.
Usually, in July and August, maximum rain this season occurred, “said HR Biswas, Central Director of Bhubaneswar IMD.
Previously, IMD estimates were normal and above this year’s normal monsoon.
He said since June 10 the state had received 206.9 mm rainfall on the amount of normal rainfall of 246.2 mm.
Four districts – Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Jajpur and Gajapati – Receive rainfall of around 40% less than usual.
Eight districts have received rainfall deficits between 20% and 40% and the remaining 17 districts have received normal rainfall.
Coraput is the only district that has received excessive rain this season so far.
The difference between rainfall in the northeast of the United States such as Bihar and West Bengal was caused by troughs from Rajasthan ran to Nagaland in the central part of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal Sub-Himalaya and Assam Extending 0.9 km above the sea average.
A north-south trough flowed from northeastern Bihar to the South Odisha interior between 1.5 km and 3.1 km above sea level, the IMD bulletin stated.
“The trough is responsible for cloudy, rain, and the goal apart from several other reasons to speed up the monsoon.
If the trough is moving in the north of Odisha it is likely to get more rain,” said Biswas.
Most parts of the country receive mild to moderate rainfall with Udala in the Mayurbhanj district which recorded 91.4 mm highs on Saturday followed by 84.9 mm in Bhogarai, Balasore District.
