Salem: District collector S Karmegam unfurled a national flag in a collector on Sunday to mark independence day.
He distributed extraordinary performance and appreciation certificates to 1,311 people, including frontline workers, government employees and volunteers for their contributions to handle pandemics.
The collector also handed over the minister’s main medal to police personnel who had provided good service.
Police Commissioner Najmul Hoda, Salem Range explored Sri Maheshwari, police supervisor (SP) Sri Abhinav, District Revenue Officer V Alin Sunjeja and the others took part in the celebration.
