Low level fever & cold among the top omicron signs

Mumbai: People who have symptoms that are equally cold in the city are more likely to have Covid-19 rather than colds, said the doctor, showing that some of the classical signs of Coronavirus were seen in previous waves missing from now.
It can also explain the growth of three to four times in rush outside the general practitioner’s clinic instead of Covid Hospital.
Nearly 3 weeks into the omicron wave, doctors do not see a lot of high-quality fever with many nails or lose the taste and smell common in delta patients.
Conversely, extreme fatigue, headaches, colds and low-level fever have become several dominant signs.
The most common one seems to be a very itchy throat, said the doctor.
More than 65% of Covid-19 cases were recently cared for by Dr.
Sanjith Saseedharan, Head, Critical Care, at SL Raheja Hospital, starting with fatigue and headaches.
“Dominant fever in the Delta variant,” said the doctor.
Both symptoms are followed by itchy throat and not sick throat.
“And then many patients have a runny nose very similar to ordinary flu,” he said, adding that Delta usually starts with a fever followed by cough and then shortness of breath.
Dr.
Shashank Joshi, a member of the task force, warned people from rejecting cold symptoms with ordinary flu.
Drawing from cases seen in the last three weeks, he said painfully and burned throat, fever, headache or bodyache were some clear omicron signs.
“Some may also suffer from cough, nasal congestion, nausea,” said the doctor.
Almost all doctors say Omicron can leave patients with persistent fatigue, even weaken the abscripts between two and five days.
The CDC in the US has registered cough, exhausted, and cold as some of the main symptoms of Omicron after analyzing cases.
Dr.
Kirti Sabnis, who consulted a Fortis Mulund Hospital, said what was missing this time was a complaint from the loss of the aroma and taste.
But night sweat is symptoms that are unusual to be found by several people.
Some also experience loss of appetite with vomiting, and conjunctivitis.
Significantly, Dr.
Seaseedharan said Omicron seemed to infect the lungs far less than what Delta did, with the tendency of the upper air channel and the pharynx channel.
Dr.
Vasant Nagvestar’s infectious disease specialist said the fewer severity had encouraged many doctors to shift equipment and consider treatment with a paracetamol for 4872 hours, then prescribe Molnupiravir antivirus drugs or provide an antibody cocktail if the fever continues.
Doctor Based on Maldo Dr.
Satanhchandra Shenoy said because Omicron presentations such as flu, people pampered local clinics instead of rushing to Covid Hospital.
“Most patients are being tested themselves and treated from a doctor,” he said, adding 29 antigen tests carried out at his clinic on Thursday morning, 20 became positive.
But Dr.
Joshi said it was important to identify which patients could develop into severe diseases.
