Pune: Deputy Chief of Minister Ajit Pawar on Saturday said the district’s weekly participant level is on the higher side and can rise further next week but the low level of hospitalization and a large number of empty beds in health hubs are convincing factors .
The weekly part of the average state of the state (WPR) was 23% for the seven-day period ended January 19.
It was 27% in Pune District.
Ajit Pawar, citing the views of experts, said Covid cases are expected to increase in Pune District in the coming week because it has not reached its peak.
On convincing records, he said only 3.12% of Covid patients were actively hospitalized in the district during the period of January 13.
According to the district health department data, only 2,330 of the total 71,497 active covid patients in hospitals in this district ended on January 19.
After meeting the Covid Review of the district weekly, Ajit Pawar said most patients recovered in house isolation and have mild symptoms.
Still, he said, he had directed a hospital to keep all the infrastructure ready.
He said private hospitals were told to dedicate at least one branch for Covid care.
Deputy Head of the Minister said that the administration would continue to urge people to take their vaccine doses because most companies can only function with people who are fully vaccinated.
He said even though the government had not made it mandatory for citizens to take the Covid-19 vaccine, it tried his best to ensure that everyone took it.
He directed local authorities to ensure that the prevention dose was given to those with over 60 years on weekends to avoid rushing and increased recipient vaccination in the 15-17 year category.
He also told the Division Commissioner to expand the free village competition Covid Pune Zilla Parishad to another district in Pune Division.
Pune Mayor Muralidhar Mohol Tweeted on Saturday that the park will remain open in the morning.
