Coimbatore: City Corporation has decided not to collect security deposits from residents to build approval if they have obtained a nod from the local planning authority.
This step has brought cheers to residents and eight residential builders spread over the stage plus three floors or land plus two floors.
Buildings with larger sizes need to get approval from local planning authorities.
However, for the past three years, Civic’s body has collected security deposits from people who have obtained permission from the local planning authority.
As a result, residents must pay deposits with both institutions.
The number of deposits will usually be returned to applicants after successfully obtaining a building settlement certificate.
But the number will be charred, if the building violates the norms of the Indian Real Estate Developer Association (Credii) takes a problem with the corporate commissioner King Gopal Sunkara.
The decision not to collect security deposits from residents for buildings approved by local planning authorities were taken at a council meeting held on July 30, the official said.
However, the meeting resolution was uploaded on the website only on Tuesday.
.
“Therefore, we took a problem with high-ranking officials.
The decision not to collect deposits by both institutions will definitely bring assistance to residents who plan to build a house.” The process of regaining security deposit from the local body, he said, is often boring.
“It was a long-delayed problem.
We have spoken with various selected representatives and corporate commissioners.
Our complaints are considered in the right spirit and the right decision has been taken.”
