NEW DELHI: LPG consumers will no longer have to put up with poor refill service of their distributors.
They can specify another dealer in the area when they book a cylinder.
The oil ministry on Thursday said the facility will be available under a pilot project in Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Gurgaon, Pune and Ranchi.
It said when a customer logs into the mobile app or customer portal to book a cylinder, a list of distributors along with their performance rating will be displayed to help choose the one offering the best service.
The move is aimed at putting pressure on the distributors to improve their performance and start healthy competition among them.
In yet another move, consumers can now transfer their LPG connection to other distributors serving in the same area through the web portal of respective oil marketing companies as well as their mobile app.
Using their registered login, customers can select the distributor of the company from the list of distributors serving in an area for porting the connection.
