Lucknow: At least 17 more people, 12 on Sundays and Five on Saturday, tested Covid-19 positive in the city for the last 24 hours.
New cases including five people with international travel history or interstate, four are contacts from those tested positively previously, two people tested positively on routine testing before being hospitalized for the treatment of other diseases and two people received fever and sore throat.
Among those who have a travel history, two have returned from Dubai and are in house isolation.
In addition, two have traveled to Jharkhand and one to Mumbai.
Chief Medical Officer Dr.
Manoj Agrawal said, “Most people diagnosed with infection do not show symptoms and are being monitored.
Samples of all patients have been sent for genome sequencing.” He also appealed to people to follow the Covid protocol.
“We saw a lot of roaming around without a mask.
These people must understand that threats have not passed,” he said.
Meanwhile, at least 6,972 people were affixed against Covid-19 in a special vaccination drive in Lucknow on Sunday.
The drive was carried out at 119 centers, including 15 private individuals.
While 4,857 people took the second dose, 2.115 took the first.
