LUCKNOW: An old enmity between two families turned bloody when one of the groups opened fire and attacked the other with stones and sticks in Sushant Golf City area on Saturday.
Police said Shiva of Hariharnagar was going to purchase a cake when his twowheeler brushed past a motorcycle.
Shiva and the two youths riding the motorcycle had a verbal spat after which they called their families which had an old enmity.
“Some youths, identified as Baccha Yadav, Durga Yadav, Ajay Yadav, Vijay Yadav, Rajpal and Raju Yadav reached the spot in support of motorcycle-borne youths.
Shiva’s family members Vibhal, Sarita, Dilip, Bajrang and Rajesh also reached there.
As Shiva’s supporters were outnumbered by their rivals, they fled the spot after being attacked with sticks,” SHO, Sushant Golf City, Vijyayendra Singh said.
“However, the attackers chased them and attacked them with stones and bricks.
They also opened fire in which Sarita and Rajesh sustained bullet injuries, All the injured persons have been admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital,” the SHO said, adding that the two families reportedly had an old enmity over a property.
ACP, Gosainganj, Swati Chaudhary said that raids were being conducted to nab the attackers.
