Lucknow: An 80-year-old Covid-19 male patient died in the city on Monday, taking the third wave toll to 32.
At least 423 more people were tested positive for infection in the last 24 hours.
Of these, 98 has mild symptoms.
Further patients who die also suffer from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hypertension and Parkinson’s disease.
He was treated in a private hospital after being diagnosed with Covid-19 where he died during treatment, said health officials.
The third wave that began on December 22 has been infected with 54,224 people.
Of these, most patients have recovered and the number of active cases on Monday is 4,280.
Among the cases reported on Monday, according to the Chief Medical Officer office, the maximum number of patients comes from Aliganj 90 followed by 50 each in Chinhat and Alambagh, Indiranagar 41 cases and Sarojininagar 36.
The remaining cases come from other parts.

Meanwhile, around 35,874 people took the Covid vaccine in Lucknow on Monday.
While 10,906 got the first dose, 21,933 received the second and 3,035 took a booster dose.
