Lucknow: Fake Indian Currency worth Rs 47,710 found on the chest of Reserve Bank of India during the audit in Lucknow.
Satyavir Singh, Assistant Manager of RBI, submitted a case with Mahanagar police about recovery of 454 fake currencies during examination records.
In his complaint, Singh said this currency was detected during October and November last year from a different bank in the state.
“This fake record consists of RS 10 Rupee Note, 18 Note Rs 50, 443 Note Rs 100, one record from Rs 500 and Rs 2,000,” he said in FIR.
He wrote to officials to conduct examinations and also took legal action before returning notes to the RBI.
Singh said the circulation / printing of a fake currency was a serious crime.
He added that the police could send fake currencies to the printed machine or forensic laboratory during the investigation of the case.
Station House Officer, Mahanagar, Dinesh Chandra Mishra, said pine under accusations using foreign currency, forged or fake or banknotes had been submitted.
Last year, 44 fake currencies from RS 20 and RS 100 denominations were found in April-May during the examination by the RBI.
By 2020, the Reserve Bank of India has submitted a beginner who stated that Rs 1.5 Crore in demonetised currencies was found in the bank’s chest deposited by various state banks between October 2017 and March 2018.
