Lucknow: Firecracker Market started a business on Monday.
However, compared to previous years, the number of stores was lacking this time.
On average in the past, there were around 1,500 firecrackers in the city.
However, after Covid-19, the number they were reduced to 500.
The shops in the East Zone were in Vineet Khand near the water tank, close to Kathauta Jheel in Chinhat, Harishchandra Inter College in Cantonment and Kalli Paschim at SGPGI.
In the Western zone, they were at Dav College Ground, Khunkhunji Ground and Aishbagh Rastogi College.
In North Zone, shops will be installed at Ramdheen Singh Lawns in Babuganj, Aliganj Sector O Park and Madiaon-Keshavnagar.
In the southern zone, they will be in Ram Plaza at the YOJNA Amrapalli in Kakori.
In the central zone, they will be in Alambagh near Chhoti Masjid, close to the Grand Hotel SS in Krishnanagar and Ramleela Maidan in Hussainganj.
Most stores have requested permission in the Trans-Gomti area under the North Zone.
ADCP, North, Prachi Singh, said that until Monday night, 185 stores had asked permission to sell firecrackers.
Commissioner with the police, law and orders, Piyush Mordia said that the three-day temporary permit was issued for the shop owner of one window.
“We have clearly stated that only green crackers should be sold, there must be provisions for fire safety in place and crackers may not have more than 110 decibel sound limits,” Mordian said.
