New Delhi: First, the National Highway Authority (NHAI) will use the 3D automatic machine guide module for road buildings, which almost doubled the speed of construction and allows officials and contractors to get direct updates about their progress telephone or computer.
The 63-km Kanpur-Lucknow toll road will be the first project to use technology.
UNI Defense Minister Singh and Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari will put the stone foundation for Rs 4,200 Crore Expressway on Wednesday, which will reduce travel time between the two cities to almost 40 minutes on December 2023.
The project will help implement 3D AMG Highway Sectne 3D systems AMG uses data from sources such as 3D engineering models to guide construction equipment during land and paving work.
AMG connects sophisticated design software with construction equipment to direct construction machinery operations with a high-precision level, and increase the speed and accuracy of the construction process, officials said.
An NHAI official said this system integrated computers in construction equipment cabin with the Global Satellite System (GNSS) satellite to convey the position information from the GNSS receiver installed on the machine.
“Computers evaluate the horizontal and vertical position of the machine which is relative to its location in the project model produced by the proposed computer.
Operators use information from onboard computers to control machine equipment.
Onboard computers are directly linked to hydraulic machines, control their operations with minimal inputs from the operator,” Official added.
This module has been used by several private players in civil construction in India but this has not been widely used.
“Nhai has chosen this toll road project to evaluate the system.
Learning from this project will help us for the widespread implementation of the AMG 3D system in the highway sector,” another official said.
The toll road starts from the Amusi airport and will be connected with the ring road proposed in Kanpur through Unnao.
About 13 km from the toll road will be elevated.
