Lucknow woman opposed age, ran to the marathon

Lucknow: Age is just a number for Asha Singh.
The 55-year-old Homemaker from Lucknow has qualified to compete in Chicago Marathon next year.
He will also run in New York Marathon next year because he qualifies for both events after his podium is finished in half the marathon held at Lucknow on Sunday.
Asha, which recorded 1 hour 44 minutes and 55 seconds at Lucknow Lucknow 21 km, was very happy to be part of the two global marathons.
“This is a dream of all marathons to run one of the six global marathons (which include Chicago and New York).
I am happy to have qualified for both events in one year,” he said.
In addition to opposing age, Asha’s achievements were also extraordinary because he had a large car accident in the United States on September 2020 which left him with a damaged shoulder.
He underwent surgery, but immediately hit the track after a partial recovery – he runs his first ultra-marathon in Lucknow in December last year.
“The injury was painful, but I was determined to participate in a long and vibrant race for the global marathon.
I feel I have surpassed age,” Asha said, a grandmother of a four-year-old boy and a 10-month-old girl.
Asha began running in 2016 and has competed in 130 races, including 60 and a half marathon (21.1km), 25 full marathon (42.2 km) and three ultra races (100km).
“I visited my child at Pune when his friend casually asked me to participate in a period of 10 km.
There was no stop since it,” Asha said, who accompanied her husband, Col (retd) Bajrang Singh in a virtual experience of 2020 Boston Marathon, where he was Come first in the category above 60 among Indian participants.
He planned to run two full marathons in November and 24-hour race in December to qualify for Boston Marathon.
Bajrang said, “He has completed the podium in almost all races.
The challenge of his age is to maintain speed with the durability needed in the marathon.”
