Ludh Documents 517 stubble burning Instances this rabi Year, lowest in 3 Decades

Ludhiana: What might be a tempting news for environmentalists, who is celebrating World Environment Day today, the instances of stubble burning at the district has seen a significant drop this season.According into the district-wise information of active fire incidents (rabi year ) at Punjab, according to satellite data from remote sensing section, by April 16 to May 28, the entire amount of such events in Ludhiana has been 517.
The amount of these incidents this past season was 1,001.
Fire episodes recorded for the identical interval in 2019 have been 997.
The data implies that the amount of fire incidents were cheapest this season when compared with preceding couple of decades.
Additionally, the information indicates that the fire episodes from Ludhiana on May 28 this season was the smallest in last few decades.

The Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) governments have acknowledged the shift is big.
“Rabi season has ended and information was recorded until May 28.

However, we must maintain it, bring down burning episodes more,” explained Ludhiana PPCB senior officer Sandeep Behl.

The stubble burning does lead to difficulties to us since it does lead to environment contamination,” said Harpreet Singh, a town resident.
