Ludhiana: A 12-year-old boy died in an accident during Nagar-Kirtan (religious procession) held at Punjab Mata Nagar, Jalan Pakhowal on Wednesday afternoon.
The prince sits on a trolley, which is part of the procession.
The trolley driver suddenly applied the brake after the boy fell on the road and suffered a head injury and died on the spot.
The deceased has been identified as a prince, 12 of Vikas Nagar.
His father Ram Babu is a painter.
ASI Dharminder Singh, Police Station SBS Nagar said that religious procession was carried out by a Gurudwara in Punjab Mata Nagar.
Some worshipers take part in the process.
Some vehicles including several trolleys are also part of people who teach worshipers.
Likewise, the prince sits on the edge of the trolley.
The trolley driver suddenly applied the brake after the prince fell on the road.
Prince’s head hit the road and he died in place.
ASI added that the police had caught a trolley driver stating that his trolley was abandoned in the procession.
Therefore, it increases the speed of the trolley to reach near other vehicles from the procession.
When he reached near the procession, he applied the brake and the boy fell.
Cop said that on the basis of Prince’s father’s statement, the police had registered a case against the trolley driver, which was identified as Swaran Singh from the Kanchan colony in the Jawaddi area, under the 304-A section (causing death from negligence).
The driver has been captured by the police.
