Ludhiana: A total of 20 students from two government schools in Ludhiana were tested positively Covid-19 on Tuesday.
The case was reported a day after the Ministry of Health began covid sampling in schools in this district.
Following the development of the two schools was closed for 14 days.
Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma said that the Ministry of Health had begun the sampling of Covid-19 in all government schools from Monday.
On the first day, a total of 1,200 students were tested.
On Tuesday, the report confirmed that eight government high school students, Basti Jodhewal and 12 high school students, Kailash Nagar had contracted a virus.
Sharma added, both schools were closed until August 24.
DC also directed the Chief Medical Officer of Kiran Ahluwalia to describe the medical team to test all students and teachers from both schools.
Even though the second classes of schools will remain suspended, teachers and students can visit there to test themselves.
