Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma has directed the heads of various institutions in Ludhiana to complete the process of procuring rice smoothly and freely interference.
Reviewing the preparation for the procurement of rice for the Kharif 2021-22 season at Bachat Bhawan, Sharma said that rice has been cultivated around 2.57 hectares in Ludhiana and around 17.53 lakh MT rice is expected to reach the grain market.
He said that 17.28 lakh rice was obtained in the district in the previous season.
He said that in addition to 108 ordinary grain markets in this district, the government also marked 94 meters while and 203 meters bathing in the factory to reduce the market.
Sharma directed all the heads personally to oversee the operation of rice procurement throughout the district starting from Friday, so as to ensure rapid rapture of rice according to the distribution of the procurement given.
