Chandigarh: Punjab DGP Siddharth Chattopadhyaya on Saturday said the initial investigation into the case of Ludhiana Court Court had revealed that the former police chief of police who were killed in the explosion had gone to the small room to assemble bombs and plan them somewhere.
Overcoming the media here, the Director General of Police said Gagandeep Singh, who was dismissed from the service in 2019, alone in a small room when the bomb left and had a connection with some elements of Khalistan and narcotics smugglers.
Khanna residents, Singh was dismissed in connection with cases related to drugs.
Singh was killed and six others were injured in the explosion that took place in the court complex on Thursday.
The Punjab government has expressed a high warning in the state after the incident.
Asked whether RDX was used in a bomb, Chatttopadhyaya said it has been sent for forensic examination and the explosive type used will be known after the report comes.
“I can’t say convincingly what material (explodes),” he said.
Replying to another question, DGP said Singh was “technically heard” when he served in the police.
“He is very good with computers and technical materials,” he said.
Putting aside the corner of the human bomb, Chatttopadhyaya said, “It seems that he goes there (small room) to connect some cables and …
to place it (bomb) somewhere.
It’s not a human bomb concept.” “The posture where he was sitting (showed it) he didn’t go to the restroom to use it.
He used a small room to assemble it (bomb).
He was alone there,” the officer said.
DGP praised the police and other investigative institutions to identify men in 24 hours after the incident.
According to the police source, SIM Singh is believed to have helped identify him.
