Ludhiana: To create awareness among farmers about the effect of burning rice propellers, Varinder Deputy Ludhiana Varinder Kumar Sharma on Wednesday directing an agricultural department official to start an intensive village.
Sharma said farmers must be made aware of the adverse effects of rice propellers which pose a serious risk of environmental and individual health.
He said that farmers also had to be sensitive about the damage that caused the soil for burning stumps.
He added that the progressive farmers from several villages have set examples by effectively using rice stumps as organic fertilizers other than fodder for livestock and they must be confused.
