Ludhiana: Election Officer District-Cum-Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Monday completed arrangements to ensure a smooth nomination process for assembly polls that will begin from tomorrow (January 25) and so on.
DEO-CUM-DC said that according to the norm stipulated by the Indian Election Commission (ECI), only three people including candidates who would be allowed to enter in the clerk space (RO’S) where the nomination for polls would be submitted by them from January 25 Until February 1, 2022 between 11:00 to 3pm.
He said that the candidates would not be allowed to bring cellphones in Ro’s room.
He said that the right videography of the nomination process would be ascertained other than the public address system, digital clock and other settings would be fully prepared in the ro room to ensure complete transparency.
Sharma asked him to limit clearly 100 meters edges by displaying boards, cameras, parking areas, barricades, ro rooms along with ECI instructions.
He said that the nomination would not be taken on January 26, 2022 and January 30, 2022 because of the holidays.
He said that complicated arrangements will also be made to ensure that the nomination process is subtly, freely and fairly.
He said that the nomination for polls would be received by each officer who returned in the appointed offices from 11am to 3pm.
