Sharma said that this ultra-modern van would play a role in waking farmers about the need for rice straw management.
He also asked the Ministry of Agriculture, PPCB, the Cooperative Department of the Cooperatives, Rural and Pancayat Development, Education and others to intensify consciousness activities at the foot level of war in villages through public meetings, general announcements of seminars or other ways.
Deputy Commissioner said that staff in Van will also disseminate information to farmers through pamphlets and posters because they are aware of pollution caused by burning rice in addition to the way and how to manage rice straw effectively.
He also confirmed that instead of burning stumps, farmers had to use agricultural equipment to overcome the threat of propeller stumps in the district, making pollution free district.
He said that the Punjab government has provided more than 5500 ultra-modern equipment to Ludhiana farmers who can be useful in effective rice straw management and also appeal to them to use i-khet applications to order these machines to manage stumps.
On that occasion, the Chief Agriculture Officer Narinder Singh Benipal, DDPO Sanjiv Kumar and others were present.
