LUDHIANA: Ludhiana District Magistrate on Saturday ordered that essential and non essential goods shops in the district may open on Sunday from 5am to 7.30pm.
An order issued by the district magistrate said that the risk of Covid-19 in Ludhiana was received on 25 June.
The order further said that rest of the orders made in the district through letter date 25 June will continue as before.
It added that these orders will take effect immediately.
As the district magistrate ordered the lifting of Sunday lockdown, residents especially traders are happy with the government’s move.
Two Covid deaths, 37 new cases reported in LudhianaDeputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Saturday informed that under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab government, the number of Covid-19 patients getting cured in district is increasing with each passing day.
He said that there are 429 active patients in the district at present.
He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid-19.
He said that a total of 37 patients (32 new patients from district Ludhiana and 5 from other states/districts) have tested positive in the last 24 hours.
