New Delhi: The explosion in the district court complex in Ludhiana on Thursday left one dead and many others were injured, police said.
Commissioner Ludhiana Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar told that the explosion was heard near the recording room on the second floor of the Ludhiana court complex.
The explosion was very strong so that one of the walls in the complex was broken and the window of several vehicles parked in the place was destroyed, the police said as quoted.
“One person died, two people were injured in the incident.
The bomb disposal team and forensic team have been called from Chandigarh for an investigation,” said Bhullar.
“No need to panic,” he added.
The district court functions when the explosion occurs.
The cause of the explosion was not confirmed.
Meanwhile, the police have been wearing an area.
Condencing the explosion, Charanjit Minister Chairman Singh Channi said that he would visit Ludhiana to take a stock of the situation.
He also said some anti-national and anti-state troops tried to take disgusting acts like that ahead of the election of the assembly in the state.
“The US (Assembly) elections approached, several anti-national and anti-state troops strive to carry out such disgusting acts and for this the government is vigilant and people must also be vigilant,” he said, adding the culprit would not be spared.
The Ministry of Houses Uni has searched for detailed reports on the explosion of the Punjab government.
MHA has asked the Punjab government to send reports as early as possible, provide the details of the incident.
Advocates have also asked questions about security in the court complex that accuses “no exact examination in the complex”.
The President of the Gurkirpal District Bar Association of Singh Gill said that “security needs to be improved in the complex”.
A FIR has been registered against an unknown person in connection with the explosion.
Meanwhile, the National Security Guard Team (NSG) visited the explosion site to investigate this problem.
This is the second big explosion in Ludhiana after the Shingar cinema explosion claimed six people in 2007.
Many other people were injured.
