LUDHIANA: Ludhiana deputy commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Friday established the Punjab administration’s tough Udaan programme at the district.
Under the strategy, complimentary sanitary pads will be awarded to women who have dropped out of college and underprivileged women each month.
Ladies and child development minister Aruna Chaudhary in the event of International Menstrual Hygiene Day, ” the deputy commissioner stated that eight sanitary pads could be sent to every beneficiary a month by anganwadi employees.
He said the women, young girls not attending school, girls from BPL households, girls of slum areas/homeless ladies, migratory ladies, and each destitute woman that aren’t covered under any strategy could be part of the programme.
The deputy commissioner stated this program could help bring out women that are from colleges back in professors as it might improve their confidence in finishing their everyday activities during puberty and make sure their personal improvement.
He explained that Ludhiana has 2,487 anganwadi centers in the district and almost 4,500 anganwadi workers and helpers are instrumental in creating the programme a enormous success.
