LUDHIANA: The Australians in Ludhiana town have contested the new tariff arrangement declared by the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) annually 2021-22.
The largest point of contention to the sector is that the increase from the fixed fees that are related on electricity connections whatever using power.
According to the order issued on Friday from the PSERC, there was growth of Rs 15 to Rs 20 each kilovolt-ampere (KVA) in adjusted fees based on distinct group of their energy connections.
The dealers will also be irked over the rise in tariffs in certain types of electricity connections, for example industrial and domestic.
Dev Gupta, vice-president of India Induction Furnace Association stated,”The new arrangement order of PSERC is a enormous setback for those factories, particularly those having big distribution (LS) and also PIU (electricity intensive unit) group relations.
Furnace sector would prove to be the worst victim of the development as stationary prices on electricity connections are hiked.
In any case, the speed of a unit of electricity has also increased by 7 8 paisa.
” Narinder Bhamra, president of Fasteners Manufacturers Association of India stated,”That is extremely disappointing tariff arrangement.
Despite being attentive to the on-ground scenario being faced by us to the previous year and also our continuous requests to subtract fixed prices from business, PSERC not merely decided to dismiss that, but gave us this kind of jolt by raising the fixed fees rather.
