Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Saturday told that under the ‘mission of the fate’ of the Punjab government, the number of Covid-19 patients healed in Ludhiana Regency increased every day.
There are 27 active patients in the current district.
He said that efforts were made to make people still safe from Covid-19.
As many as four patients (two of Ludhiana and two states / other districts) have been tested positively in the last 24 hours.
He further said that until now, a total of 23,70,902 samples were taken, where 22,71,737 was found negative.
He said that now, the total number of patients associated with Ludhiana was 87,497, while 11,668 patients were included in other districts / states.
The total death count includes 2,098 people from Ludhiana and 1,049 from other districts.
He said that every time the district administration and the Ludhiana Health Department knew about positive people or suspects, their samples were immediately sent for testing.
8,436 samples suspected of being sent for testing on Saturday and the results are estimated immediately.
Sharma appealed to the population to comply with all the safety protocols issued by the Punjab government such as wearing masks, maintaining social distance and often washing hands to not only save themselves safely too.
