Ludhiana: After waiting for years for the construction of the road to Gurdwara Deg Sar Sahib in Kalani Kalan in Ludhiana, the worshipers decided to start the road construction work itself.
The worshipers claim that there is no point in waiting for the authority to build the road so it decided to take problems in their own hands and start work.
Initially, all the holes were fulfilled and starting on Friday and so on, the bitumen would be set.
The residents of the nearest villages claim that since 2008, the road was not built and for more than five years they had demanded road reconstruction.
They made that it was only a stretch of 2 km which passed the famous Gurdwara where Lakh people visited him every month on special days from Ludhiana, Rahon, Nawansshehr and other cities.
For the construction of the Public Works Department, the road has prepared estimates worth Rs 1.72 Crore but until now work does not occur.
Manpreet Singh Dhami from SBS Kartar Singh Memorial Club, “We knocked all the doors in the past four years but no one listened to us.” He said that worshipers collected money for road construction.
