According to the current report of India Survey of Higher Education (AISHE) for academic year 2019-20, you can find as numerous as 2411 higher educational institutions (HEIs) in Madhya Pradesh.
In the last semester, the AISHE report says 2191 schools.

The average registration per faculty in the country has also improved by a mean of 37 applicants.
In academic session 2018-19, a mean of all 734 enrolment per faculty and 24 schools per lakh pupils which shifted into a mean of 771 enrolment per faculty in semester 2019-20 and 27 schools per lakh pupils.

Sometime in session 2018-19, there have been 1895 private and government schools from that 1089 were personal reluctantly, 200 were personal helped, and 606 were authorities Institutions.
