Chennai: Madras Head of the High Court of Sanjib Banerjee, whose carcass Bench said the Election Commission (ECI) had to face charges of murder for the FLOUTING Covid Protocol, has been moved to Meghalaya High Court.
Justice Banerjee was appointed as chairman of the judge only more than 10 months ago – on January 4, 2021.
Although the Collegium SC recommends its transfer on September 16, the order was officially released only on Tuesday.
Banerjee, who finished 60 years on November 2, has two years of service remaining.
Of the 75-judge Chartered Madras HC, he moved to HC who had two judges.
In April, the bench led by him waslapping the poll panel for failing to maintain the Covid protocol during the campaign for the assembly selection of Tamil Nadu.
It is said that “ECI must be installed on charges of murder because it becomes the most irresponsible institution (SIC)”.
Judge Banerjee also warned to buy elections if the protocol was not followed.
Even though ECI went to the Supreme Court to eliminate the observations made by him, the peak court had refused to oblige.
In July, CJ, while sitting in the bench Madurai in court, punish the state government because he did not order anyone in connection with the sterlite police shoot incident where 13 protesters were killed.
“Can we kill people and throw money towards them and say that our work is finished?” The bench asked.
In July, the bench headed by CJ Banerjee had rejected the petition that challenged the validity of the committee suffered by the Government of Tamil Nadu to study the impact of the NEET in students from social and economic classes.
The bench has observed that “no one stopped the selected government from studying the impact of the NEET”.
In September, the bench headed by CJ Banerjee had a jammed selection with a local body Puducherry quoted “serious anomaly” in the booking chair for caste and women scheduled.
“Collegium SC, in his meeting was held on September 16, has recommended the transfer of Justice Sanjib Banerjee, chairman of the judge, Madras HC, to Meghalaya HC,” said a statement released by the Collegium.
It also recommends Justice Transfer Munishwar Nath Bhandari, a judge in Allahabad HC, to Madras HC.
