Chennai: Given the increase in Covid-19 cases, Madras University has delayed all the semester exam scheduled to start on January 21, 2021 practical exams starting on January 3, also stands postponed, said circular on Friday.
“We will issue a new schedule,” Vice-Chancellor S Gowri said.
Autonomous Colleges in the city also tend to postpone the semester exam scheduled to start on January 21.
“We have to accommodate 1,500-3,000 students a day during the exam.
If Covid-19 cases continue to increase, it may not be possible to conduct an exam in January,” Santhosh Baboo said, the principal Dg Vaishnav College.
He said the college could try the exam in February and completed the next semester in June.
The state government has stated a vacation study for all students, except for medical students, until January 20.
