Madurai: 20 tons of rice PDS, wheat seized

Madurai: The civil supply of the Criminal Investigation Division (CS-CID) of the police unit in Madurai on Tuesday seized 20.55 tons of PDS and wheat stored in the warehouse near Iravathanall.
CSSID officials said that they had received confidential information that rice PDS was piled up at the Asbestos roofed house near the distribution at the crossing of Jalan Ring-Kallambon.
A team conducted a search in Godown and confiscated 15.96 tons of PDS rice and 4.6 tons of wheat.
Rice was found in 200 Gunny Bags backpack stores and 119 plastic bags while wheat was found in 92 bags.
The owner of The failure, was identified as Muthu, 43, from Mela’s housing board, was arrested.
The question with him revealed that he had bought items from a ration store in the USULAMPATTI block.
The case was registered against Employees of Maharajan Ransum Shop, Mani and Puni along with Muthu.
