Madurai College student protest stage

Madurai: About 100 students protested in front of the Madurai District Collectorate on Monday demanding that the University conduct an online semester exam as did in the previous semester.
With colleges opened back for second and third year students in part, most of the colleges and universities sought to conduct semester examinations in offline mode on campus.
“But, it is unfair for students because the class has not been fully offline.
Even now, the majority of students only depend on online class.
Universities cannot only hold online classes but do tests alone offline,” said Munispandi, President, Anaithu Manavaral Munnetra AmaiPpu ( Amma).
Students say conducting an offline exam will increase student burden and also affect them mentally in the middle of a challenging time because of the pandemic Covid-19.
It was also highlighted that many students also have not spent sufficient time on campus for practical classes.
