Madurai: A 21-year-old man was arrested for raping, married and impregnated a 15-year-old girl.
The incident was revealed when the girl, a nine-month pregnant hospital was hospitalized (GRH) for shipping.
The hospital warns the police, following the rural welfare officer for women, Karuppayee, meeting the girl.
The investigation revealed that the girl and the defendant had a three-year relationship.
He also raped him several times.
The girl, who was pregnant, married her on June 16, 2021, with the approval of their parents.
A case was registered by police T Kallupatti against the defendant and both parents under various parts of the ban on child marriage laws and children’s protection of sexual violations (Pocso).
The police said that while the 21-year-old child had been arrested and returned in court detention, his parents and the girl’s parents fled.
“Children’s marriage and teen pregnancy greatly influence the future of a girl a girl whether parents agree or not.
They cannot pursue education and drop out of school.
