Madurai: Madurai District Police arrested a 40-year-old man for killing a sanitation worker during a drunk fight.
The deceased has been identified as S Nondisami, 48, a sanitation worker in Therkutheru Pancayat in Melur.
Nondisami belongs to the scheduled caste (paraair).
The police said that about six months ago, the defendant, a Pandiajan alias Thorattu, belonging to the classroom (Kallar), had taken stones that were disposed of for the construction of drainage channels.
Nondisami reported this to President Panchayat.
Since then, there have been hostilities between the duo and Pandiaraji often abuse the deceased with their castle and threatening them.
On Tuesday night, a fight broke out between the two, who was in a drunk country.
During the fight, Pandiaraji was misused by Nondisami using the name of his castle.
He also hit him with wood and killed him.
Based on the complaint submitted by the late brother of the late, the Melur police registered a case under various parts of the Scheduled IPC and caste scheduled (prevention of cruelty) acting.
