Madurai: A restaurant at the Madurai Train Station intersection was ordered to return RS 15 to customers for non-issuance of receipts.
The female customer, who has bought water bottles from the restaurant on Platform No.
1 On Sunday night, was stopped by Naresh Salecha, a member (finance) on the railroad board, to check whether he was given a receipt for his purchase.
The woman said that she had bought it for 15 and she had not received a receipt.
“Food is free if there are no receipts provided,” Naresh said to the customer, showing on the signboard that announced the same thing.
Saying so, he made employees at the restaurant gave him a receipt and also returned the RS 15 he had paid for bottled water.
He warned the kiosk to ensure that they did not repeat his mistakes, others faced strict action.
Members said that such boards had been placed in all stalls at the train station throughout the country and asked senior officials to ensure that customers were given a receipt.
Checking a non-vegetarian kitchen, he asked the staff there to defend it.
Naresh checked the halls and toilets waiting, CCTV monitoring rooms, bridges, parcels, and other passenger facilities and development work at Junction Madurai.
He asked about the plan to rebuild the intersection and go through a blueprint.
