Madurai / Trichy: The number of fresh Covid-19 cases recorded in Madurai in one day down to 11 on Friday.
This is the lowest in the district in 160 days.
The last time the district recorded fewer cases was 10 on March 13.
With 21 recovery, the number of active cases in Madurai established in 178.
There were no deaths reported in all ten South regencies on Friday.
With new cases under 60 in Trichy, the central region also recorded a decline in new cases on Friday.
Trichy has 54 new cases, which is one lower than Wednesday.

A total of 130 new cases were paired in the southern district with 27 in Kankumari, followed by Tirunelveli (26), Sivaganga (20) and Tuticorin (10)).
