Madurai: Virological Lab in Madurai Medical College has tested 17.65 lakh RT-PCR, the highest among all government medical college laboratories in the state.
The Government Medical College Labs in Chennai, including KMC, MMC, Stanley Medical College and Omandurar Medical College, together tested around 17 samples of lakh.

CC Sugumari said the lab with staff around 100, including 65 doctors and paramedics besides 45 data entry operators, have operated all the time since March 2020.
With nine RT-PCR testing machines and five March RNA extractors, laboratories are able to do About 12,000 to 15,000 tests every day.
During the first wave, they have done around 8,000 tests a day, which is the highest, but in the second wave of sample expenses gradually increased from 11,000 to 15,801 a day in June.
